Spirit Night - One Man Houses
Spirit Night is solo work of WV ex-pat, Dylan Balliett. On this album his project shifts into infectious a garage-punk / jangley pop band that could be compared to The Pixies, Husker Du, Pavement, etc. I'm also not afraid to say it has some emo-vibes. Probably the best album I've heard this year. My roommate once remarked that it's the only thing I listen to anymore. I'm releasing this as a cassette on my new label Broken World Media. Check out the jam "Kerouac" below.

Dirtdrinker - s/t
Dirtdrinker are a noisy experimental hardcore band from Scotland. Drenched in grooves and sludge, somewhat similar to Botch, Breather Resist, and Deadguy. This self-titled 3 song EP was released this year and is soon to come out as a 7".

Fat History Month - Fucking Despair
Fat History Month are a 2 piece band from Boston and are probably the best band on earth. I get heavy Pavement and Modest Mouse vibes from this album.

Dust From 1000 Years are an indie rock / dreamy folk band from Bloomington, IN. They have been active for quite a few years and released numerous albums, most on their own label, So Hard Young Boy. This is their most recent full length, released in early 2011.
